Nader to Host Control the Corporation Conference

Consumer advocate Ralph Nader will host what he’s calling the “Control the Corporation” conference next week in Washington, D.C.
The all day conference on Monday April 2 will feature six sessions, including a morning panel titled – “Holding Corporations Accountable for their Crimes.”
On that panel will be Russell Mokhiber, editor of Corporate Crime Reporter, Bill Black, Professor at the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law, Patrick Burns of Taxpayers Against Fraud, Kent Greenfield, Professor of Law at Boston College Law School, and Carl Mayer of the Mayer Law Group.
The two other morning panels:
Protecting the Commons from the Insatiable Advocates of Privatization.
On the panel: Phineas Baxandall of US PIRG, David Morris of the Institute for Local Self-Reliance, Wenonah Hauter of Food & Water Watch, Jamie Love of Knowledge Ecology International, and Margaret Flowers of Physicians for a National Health Program.
Countering the impact of corporate control of the electoral process.
On the panel: Bob Edgar of Common Cause, Theresa Amato of Citizen Works, Rob Richie of Fair Vote, Lou Dubose of the Washington Spectator, and Anti-Nuclear Activist Harvey Wasserman.
The three afternoon panels are:
Occupy the Future.
On the panel: Christopher Hedges author and TruthDig columnist, Kevin Zeese of the National Occupation of Washington, DC, Robert Weissman of Public Citizen, and Dean Baker of the Center for Economic and Policy Research.
Creating economic models that provide jobs/increasing the minimum wage.
On the panel: Gar Alperovitz – Professor of Political Economy, University of Maryland, Greg LeRoy of Good Jobs First, Dimitra Doukas – author of Worked Over: The Corporate Sabotage of an American Community; Gayle McLaughlin, the Mayor of Richmond, California, and Alexis Baden-Mayer of the Organic Consumers Association.
Mobilizing for Action.
