House Staffer Frank Medina Joins Better Markets

Frank Medina has been named senior counsel and director of research at Better Markets.

Medina is joining the organization from the professional staff of the House Financial Services Committee, where he spent seven years as Deputy Chief Counsel and Senior Counsel.

“With years of public and private sector experience, in Congress, at the SEC, at a too-big-to-fail bank and prominent law firms, Frank will be instrumental in helping Better Markets promote the public interest in finance and the financial markets,” said Dennis Kelleher of of Better Markets. “Frank has had senior roles at the House Financial Services Committee for the past seven years and participated in the consideration and drafting of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. His deep knowledge of Congress, finance, banking, financial reform and the economy will help us strengthen our financial system and support Americans’ jobs, businesses, homes, savings and investments.”

Prior to joining Better Markets, Mr. Medina served as Deputy Chief Counsel and Senior Counsel on the professional staff of the House Financial Services Committee, where he drafted legislation and amendments and wrote reports on major financial regulatory issues considered by the Committee, including financial stability, systemic risk, the Federal Reserve and financial crises.

Prior to his work on the committee, he served as a Senior Attorney at the Securities and Exchange Commission, Associate General Counsel at Citigroup, Inc., and was an associate at the law firms of Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering and Cravath, Swaine & Moore.

Medina holds an AB from Brown University and a JD with honors from the University of Chicago Law School.
